DaySpring Christian Church

DaySpring Christian Church is an independent (autonomous in eldership/shepherding/leadership) Christian Church located in Fort Collins, Colorado.

DSCC STATEMENT OF ACCEPTANCE

DaySpring Christian Church welcomes all people to it services and activities. We seek to serve all people, realizing that according to the Bible, all have sinned and are in need of God’s grace. We accept all people where they are in their lives and we work together in mutual respect and Christian love to grow in the instructions that God provides through His word. We help each other to be more Christ-like and not to purposefully practice or remain in sin.

Love Abides

Our Welcome

How do you see people?

Do see them by race, culture, country, status? Jesus saw people in two ways; lost or saved. He saw people through an eternal lens, where they would spend eternity and that impacted how He not only saw them but how He treated them. Jesus was a great welcomer. At DaySpring our desire is to love people like Christ loved people, that once people meet the Savior of the world it would be life-changing and that the Welcomed would become the Welcomers.

Our Journey

DaySpring has been in existence since 1963 when a handful of like-minded people gathered to create a body that would impact and influence Fort Collins and the surrounding area. The ministry of DaySpring exists way beyond the walls of our building. Each person is encouraged to grow in the faith. Our theme for growth is, “ACORN TO OAK”, where biblically it’s identified as moving from a “babe in Christ” to “a maturing saint” to “an Oak of righteousness”, and ultimately as Ephesians states, to experience the “fullness of Christ” in our lives. The journey takes time. The journey takes effort. The journey is made easier when we come alongside each other. We invite you to come journey along with us.

Our Heart

Jesus said in John 8:29, “…for I always do the things that are pleasing to God.”

Wow! That’s what we desire in our lives, to do those things that please God.” Have you ever wondered how many times your life has made God smile or be pleased? In thinking about that, we want to have a heart for prayer, for missions, for outreach, for the lost, for growing the kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.

Meet the Team

We have a great team that help keep the day-to-day operations smooth as well as lead us in a God-centered vision on Sunday mornings.

FAVORITE HYMN OR CHORUS/WHY,

"Take Me In". By Kutless. It's a song based upon Isaiah 6:1-8 when Isaiah gets to see a vision of The LORD God high and lifted up. Isaiah is overcome by the things that he is seeing, and realizes that he is a man of unclean lips, and seeing the perfection of holiness on display as he is in God's presence - he knows that he is ruined. Yet, one of the seraphim comes to him and touches his lips with a glowing coal from the altar - while saying that Isaiah's iniquities are removed, and his sins atoned for. He finishes this moment in verse 8 by responding to God's question of who will go for Him- with "here I am, send me". This is a constant reminder to me that God is perfect in all of His ways, is well beyond my finite mind, and yet He reaches down to us and offers us "Yom Yeshua" - the Day of Salvation through His son Jesus, grants us the Holy Spirit as our Helper upon baptism - and as we continue on our pursuit of holiness He has made a way and we have been commanded to go out and share God's Truth with everyone around us.

GREAT SPIRITUAL MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE

On April 9th, 2020, I repented from my sinful behavior because of the deep sorrow for having sinned against God all my life. On that day, I was baptized for the forgiveness of my sins and received the Holy Spirit, the power for me to live life according to God's.

Leadership

Preparing People For One Meeting

DaySpring realizes that every person will stand before the God of the universe and give an account. Christ, our high priest is the one mediator between God and men. We want every person to hear these words, “Well done good and faithful servant.” We desire every person to have a faith that is steadfast and true. The church (the body of Christ) is designed to help us with our growth in steadfastness and truth. Ephesians 4: 11-16 again shows us how that works. Our goal then is Isaiah 61:3, “To grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified.”

Eldership Of DaySpring

Tom Cramer, Mike Refner, Jeff Seaton, Jason Valentine

The elders of the body of Christ are called to, “shepherd the flock.” (1 Peter 5:1-4). They also have specific responsibilities with the flock. We are called to build a spiritual legacy and to grow people in their faith. Every person will stand before God, the roll of the shepherd of the body of Christ is a high calling. People’s souls are at stake.

  1. Elders PROTECT the Flock
    • Against false teaching, Acts 20:17, 28-31
    • Seeking straying sheep, 1 Thessalonians 5:12
  2. Elders FEED the Flock
    • Scripture is food, 1 Cor 3:2, Hebrews 5:12-14, 1 Peter 2:2
    • Teaching, 1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:9-16, John 21:17
  3. Elders LEAD the Flock
    • Able leadership is important, 1 Timothy 5:17
    • Qualified leadership is essential, 1 Timothy 3:4,5
  4. Elders offer LOVING CARE for the Flock
    • They give themselves, Acts 20:35
    • They pray for the flock, James 5:14,15

Levels of Leadership

  1. People follow you because they have to, Mark 10:42-45 (Romans, Gentiles)
  2. People follow you because they want to, Matthew 4:18-22, (Disciples & Jesus)
  3. People follow you because of what you have done for the organization or group, 1 Samuel 18:5-7, (David & Israel)
  4. People follow you because of what you have done for them, 1 Samuel 18:1-3, (David & Jonathan)
  5. People follow you because of who you are and what you represent, John 6:60-69, (Jesus & Peter)
